This new, exciting non-profit organization is now in operation in the first phase of its program, in Prescott Valley, Arizona. The program includes all areas of the Fine Arts---Music, Art, Dance & Drama, taught by caring, creative, qualified instructors. The academy developed as the result of a dream of its founder, Janice Luke (Jan), who has taught music in the form of piano & voice to children and adults for many years. She has lived in the Prescott area for almost 25 years, and has been involved in church music and community children and adult choirs in Prescott and previously, all around the country.
As Executive Director of the academy's program, it is Jan's desire, along with her husband, Tom, to touch the lives of as many children, youth, and adults in Yavapai County as possible, with the wonderful, lifetime gifts the Fine Arts offer. The academy leases space in the area at this time but in its phase II, will soon have it's own building and will offer many additional programs with even more choices for our community residents of all ages.
Patricia Merchant (Patty), former owner of Grandpa's Farm Daycare Center, has joined the academy as Assistant Director. She also teaches private lessons in Guitar and Banjo, and leads a very unique class for babies and toddlers, in music & rhythms, which aids young children in their development. Her husband, Steve, is Vice-President of the Board of Directors.
Both Jan & Patty and the entire Board of Directors invite you and the children in your life, to become involved in this exciting venture. We all love and care about the children and youth of our area, and want to give them positive activities and goals in their lives. The program also enhances the culture of the area and provides quality, enjoyable experiences for all.
